Shabbat
Temple Har Zion is known for Shabbat
services that have been called inspirational, meditative, supportive, and
embracing. Congregants and visitors express feeling like they have found a
spiritual conduit - a portal - into deep connection (d'vekut) with
G-d.
Offering both traditional and renewal
services, Shabbat becomes an experience where one can pray, meditate, sing,
or move in the way that fits each person individually. The services
are spiritually progressive, while remaining true to many of the traditions
that we find comforting.
Shabbat services are held every Friday and
Saturday and always followed by a delicious Oneg or Kiddush. Aliyot
are always available if needed. Women and men take active roles in all
aspects of the service and all are expected to wear headcoverings.
Kabbalat Shabbat: Fridays 8pm
- 9:00pm (except Hebrew School service which begins at 7:30pm)
Shabbat Morning: Saturdays 9:30am - 12:00pm

Renewal Services are twice monthly. Please see our calendar page for
the next renewal service. Renewal services are a unique experience
where drumming, movement, song, and meditation come together to uplift and
inspire.
Holidays
Temple Har Zion has scheduled services for all holidays and festivals in
the Jewish Year. Following the conservative tradition, 2 days of
services are offered for the major holidays such as Rosh Hashanah and
Shavuot. Passover services are both the first 2 days and the last 2
days of the holiday. Other services include Sukkot, Simcha Torah, Tu
B'shevat (seder service), Purim, and Tisha B'Av. Additionally,
throughout the year other services such as S'lichot, Havdallah, Healing, and
Yom HaShoah are also offered.
Siddurim and Chumashim
(Prayer Books and Pentateuch)
Temple Har Zion uses Siddur Sim Shalom (The Rabbinical Assembly and the
United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism) for daily, Shabbat, and Festival
services. Our chumash is Etz Hayim (also from the Rabbinical Assembly
and USCJ). Currently, we are using the Silverman siddur for the
High Holidays.
